• Manage, coordinate and support Database Administrators to lead them to success related to Support, projects work.
• Liaise with 3rd party vendors and resources, IT Infrastructure teams and application support teams
• Lead and mentor Database team with varied strengths, responsible for Projects and database administration globally
• Drive Team goals and service objectives.
• Work with Senior Leadership to develop structure, resources, and processes to lead the organizations current activities and long-term projected growth
• Establish regular departmental meetings to promote communication and adequate information flow
• Lead projects from a database perspective like upgrades and other projects
• Plan, organize and coordinate regular Patching schedules (DB hosts and DB s)
• Handle relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality services
• Interact regularly with customers to understand their business and to anticipate the needed IT changes. Lead business relationships.
• Implement database security measures and ensure data integrity.
• Oversee database backup and recovery processes.
• Ensure timely and effective incident resolution, problem management, change management and service request fulfillment.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and technologies to make informed recommendations for improvement.
• Architect and ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of systems with regards to databases
• Create and maintain documentation of the Database landscape (Data flows and streams, setup, etc.).
• Test and document system recoveries and assure recoverability.
• Lead licensing, warranty, and support contracts for database solutions with respective vendors.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to work with personnel from all levels in different countries, different cultures and external partners
• Experience working with infrastructure operations
• Acts with a sense of urgency, illustrates ambition and drives for completion of tasks and projects
• Initiate and develop creative solutions that are cost effective and supportable
• Demonstrate leadership competencies such as: effective planning, motivating, and developing staff and building effective teams
• Stay up-to-date in latest IT trends and advancements in database administration
• Design architectural landscape from Database perspective, document and ensure that standards are held
• Responsible for Leading Team to success, define goals and responsibilities to individuals, mentoring and ensure technical growth of individuals
• Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle product support team and third parties as appropriate.
• Responsible for coordination of variation of tasks like refreshes, patching, project work
