Mechanical Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Develop new products, concepts and prototypes based on requirements from HQ in the Netherlands
• Improve and redesign existing products.
• Analysing requirements for applications with a focus on visual/video systems and the mechanical feasibility of your design. Manage and overview the work of the tasks at hand.
• 2D/3D design, drawings, and simulation
• Experienced in the design of different mechanisms using springs, hinges, cams, links, joints, sliders etc.
• Regulatory compliance and product safety of the design. Apply principles of Ergonomics, DFM/DFA, and FMEA in product design
• Select the most appropriate material based on Knowledge of different standard materials for parts
• Building and testing of prototypes. Developing prototypes into production-ready products (in cooperation with production in Ireland).
• Identify suppliers for prototyping and mass manufacturing of the different parts of the device and test their samples for approval.
• Assess production methods for the parts developed.
• Provide assistance in the start-up phase of production (in the manufacturing plant in Ireland or elsewhere), but also in the case of incidental or structural problems in the production process / field.
• Prepare technical documentation such as specifications, design descriptions, functional specifications, and test plan.
