Solar Operations and Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Solar Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems across various commercial and residential sites. You will play a key role in maintaining system uptime, troubleshooting issues, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure maximum energy production.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine O&M tasks including system inspections, troubleshooting, and testing of PV systems.

Monitor the performance of solar energy systems using specialized software and remote monitoring tools.

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on solar panels, inverters, and electrical systems.

Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical or mechanical issues to ensure minimal downtime.

Maintain accurate records of system performance, maintenance activities, and inventory.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards during all maintenance activities.

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to resolve complex technical issues.

Provide customer support and education on solar system maintenance and performance.

Respond to emergencies and service calls in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., NABCEP) or relevant degree is a plus.

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in solar O&M, electrical, or related fields.

Solid understanding of solar photovoltaic (PV) system components (panels, inverters, etc.) and electrical systems.

Experience with solar monitoring software and troubleshooting tools.

Knowledge of safety procedures and regulatory requirements (OSHA, NEC, etc.).

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.

Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.

Clean driving record (if travel to different sites is required).

Willingness to participate in ongoing training and certifications.
