About the Role :

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Data Modeler to join our team.

This role is critical in designing and implementing robust data solutions within our Azure Data Lake environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data modeling principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, SMEs, and technical teams.

Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with equipment financing, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities :

- Requirements Gathering and Analysis : Elicit and analyze complex business and technical requirements from stakeholders, SMEs, and technical teams to understand data needs and translate them into actionable data models.

- Data System Analysis and Mapping : Analyze existing complex data systems, understand their intricacies, and map them effectively for migration and integration within the Azure Data Lake.

- Data Transformation and Mapping Documentation : Collaborate with clients and internal teams to create comprehensive data transformation and mapping documents, outlining data flow, cleansing rules, and enrichment processes.

- Data Modeling : Design and develop logical and physical data models for both relational and non-relational database implementations, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability.

- Metadata Management : Generate and manage metadata to support data discovery, understanding, and governance within the data platform.

- ETL Optimization : Contribute to the optimization of ETL processes for large datasets, ensuring efficient data movement and adherence to specified SLAs.

- SQL Analysis : Utilize advanced SQL skills to perform complex data analysis, profiling, and validation.

- Documentation : Create and maintain clear and concise documentation of data platforms, data models, and data dictionaries for easy business consumption and understanding.

- Communication and Collaboration : Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, adapting communication style and vocabulary as needed. Collaborate effectively with distributed teams.

- Industry Knowledge : Leverage knowledge of the financial services industry, preferably related to equipment financing, to contribute to relevant and effective data solutions.

Qualifications :

- Experience : 12+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Modeling, Business Systems, or a similar role.

- Leadership : Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience in project/task management.

- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data systems and translate business needs into technical solutions.

- Data Modeling Expertise : Expert knowledge of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling, star schema, snowflake schema, and data vault methodologies.

- Database Experience : Good understanding of database principles and hands-on experience in advanced SQL for complex data analysis.

- ETL Knowledge : Good understanding of data movement and optimization of ETL processing for large datasets.

- Azure Data Lake Experience : Experience analyzing and mapping data systems for integration with Azure Data Lake.

- Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.

- Financial Services Experience : Knowledge and understanding of financial services, preferably related to equipment financing, is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with data modeling tools (e.g, Erwin Data Modeler, PowerDesigner).

- Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g, Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake).

- Experience with data governance and metadata management tools.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
