Job Description
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety among Production team.
- Supervising hourly workers in crane operation, pickling, galvanizing, and clean up while training workers on new jobs or operations. He has to train and direct Bridge Crane Operators, Material Handlers (Forklift Drivers), Crew Leaders, Rackers, Finishers, and Quality Control employees.
- Ensuring inspection and quality of processed material, producing parts and assemblies to schedule, motivating hourly workers to attain quantity and quality standards, and administering company policy at the production level.
- Involved in daily coordination efforts with production scheduling and dispatching, quality assurance, material control, and maintenance as necessary to meet schedules
- Overseeing the operations of a specific shift in the coating facility to ensure smooth production processes and adherence to quality standards.
- Responsible for production equipment including but not limited to, overhead bridge cranes, zinc kettles, acid baths, caustic baths, flux baths, forklifts and/or straddle trucks, scissor lifts, etc., and all fixtures needed to run safely, efficiently, and productively.
- Also recognize product(s) requiring special handling or preparatory measures prior to processing. This will be especially critical in the custom galvanized product because of the wide variety of situations encountered.
- Implements work schedule to maximize utilization of manpower, machines, and materials. Assigns work to hourly employees
- Defines results and standards of performance expected of assigned personnel. Monitors performance and takes corrective action as necessary.
- Continuously observes for proper operating of assigned equipment. Identifies maintenance required and initiates corrective action. Recommends new or improved machines, equipment, and facilities as required.
- Maintains good housekeeping and safe working conditions in assigned area. Reports and investigates all incidents in a timely manner
- Trains new employees into department/company activities and safety procedures. Introduces employees to the shift safety representative. Prior to the end of probationary period, recommends approval, rejection, or probationary period extension
