Site Reliability Engineer - Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Reliability Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud architecture, Datadog monitoring, AWS services, and driving resolution during major incidents. This role requires a strong focus on reliability, automation, security best practices, and proactive monitoring. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining highly reliable, scalable, and secure cloud systems, while improving system performance and ensuring continuous availability.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance, utilizing AWS services (ECS, EC2, EKS, S3, Lambda, etc.).
• Set up and configure Datadog monitoring for cloud-based systems, applications, and services, ensuring proactive monitoring that alerts on symptoms rather than just outages.
• Lead and drive Technical Bridges during Major Incidents, coordinating cross-functional teams to resolve critical issues and minimize service disruption.
• Develop and maintain automated scripts (using Python or PowerShell) to streamline cloud operations, automate tasks, and integrate monitoring systems for enhanced reliability.
• Build robust monitoring systems that identify potential issues before they cause outages, enabling early detection and resolution of symptoms.
• Administer production jobs, ensuring their efficient execution and managing systems to block or limit unwanted traffic.
• Ensure the application of security best practices for systems deployed in cloud environments, safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
• Apply basic networking knowledge to troubleshoot and optimize cloud networking configurations and ensure proper communication between cloud services.
• Leverage your Banking/Financial Domain knowledge to design solutions that meet the specific security, regulatory, and performance needs of the financial services industry.
• Collaborate with other architects, developers, and operations teams to create and optimize high-availability cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Monitor, assess, and improve system reliability and performance, providing ongoing feedback and guidance to enhance cloud system resilience.
• Design and implement disaster recovery and incident response plans to ensure business continuity and rapid recovery in the event of an outage.

Job Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in Datadog monitoring setup, including configuring monitoring for cloud systems and applications.
• Strong scripting skills in Python or PowerShell to automate processes, integrate monitoring, and manage cloud environments.
• Proven experience leading Technical Bridges for Major Incidents, ensuring quick and effective resolution of high-priority incidents.
• Extensive experience with AWS services (ECS, EC2, EKS, S3, Lambda, etc.) and architecture design for cloud environments.
• Knowledge of security best practices for systems deployed in the cloud, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and securing sensitive information.
• Experience in building proactive monitoring systems that alert based on symptoms and trends rather than relying on outages.
• Experience with administering production jobs and blocking or limiting unwanted traffic to safeguard systems and maintain operational efficiency.
• Basic networking knowledge for troubleshooting and optimizing cloud network connectivity and communication.
• Strong understanding of the Banking/Financial Domain, including familiarity with relevant security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with teams across development, operations, and security.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline implementations.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• In-depth understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to banking and finance (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR).
