Applications are invited for a Research Project Assistant to work within the Radiotherapy Related Research (RRR) group, Division of Cancer Sciences at The University of Manchester. The post is based at The Paterson Building at the Withington site of The University of Manchester
The post holder will be responsible for providing high quality day-to-day project support and administration tasks through all stages of the research project life cycle. The RRR portfolio has expanded considerably over the last five years and includes Christie-led phase I-III trials, translational and pre-clinical research, proton therapy research and advanced radiotherapy research focused on the Magnetic Resonance Linear Accelerator (MR Linac)
The primary aim of this role is to provide comprehensive and proactive administrative support for the multidisciplinary RRR group. Responsibilities will be varied and will require flexibility and the ability to quickly learn administrative processes in this busy academic clinical research environment. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the programme manager and RRR project managers to deliver our key awards namely the Cancer Research UK RadNet Manchester Radiation Research Unit and the recently awarded NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Advanced Radiotherapy theme. You will be responsible for maintaining RRR databases e.g. publications and project specific data for progress reports to funders; handling confidential patient data and communicating with research teams within the NHS. You will have experience of working in administration and maintaining accurate data records; you will have excellent organisational skills and can prioritise multiple tasks to ensure delivery.
