REQUIREMENTS COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor s Degree, Trade school certificate in Systems Administration and / or Equivalent Experience
8+ years as System Engineer in a Medium to Large Enterprise Environment
5+ years of experience of Linux administration.
3+ years of experience in a virtualization environment
Industry certifications such as RHCE, ITIL V3, etc. a plus
Advanced troubleshooting, analysis, and creative thinking skills.
Advanced understanding of client server technology
Advanced skills and IN depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, Ubuntu, etc..
Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency
Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management and automation.
Experience in configuring and managing Zabbix for system monitoring and alerting.
Hands-on experience with container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management is a plus
Knowledge of configuration/upgradation and management of Splunk a plus.
Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, SFTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP.
Knowledge of Docker containerization and JSON is a plus.
Strong knowledge and experience with VMware server virtualization technologies; VCP certification a plus
Understanding of technical support practices such as ticket documentation, SLAs, and escalation processes.
Quick learner, self-starter, the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to work within time constraints and follow set processes and procedures.
Customer focused, a team player, and able to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Advanced level analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for supporting day-to-day operations of the systems within the scope of the System Team.
Support and maintain core Linux Server OS such as Centos, Ubuntu etc.
Maintain and Upgrade Zabbix infrastructure on Linux.
Maintain and Upgrade Splunk infrastructure on Linux.
Maintain and Upgrade Ansible infrastructure on Linux.
Maintain and upgrade SFTP servers.
Utilize Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management, if applicable.
Analyze network activity and performance, using network logs to troubleshoot and track the nature and resolution of problems.
Assist in the patching of Linux servers as required.
Assist in the decommissioning of servers and system resources as needed.
Participation in annual DR testing exercises as required.
Maintain and create documentation as required.
Diagnose problems and escalate technical support where appropriate. Own the problem and the resolution promoting end-user satisfaction.
Provide timely responses and status updates to end-user and management requests.
Follow set policies and procedures when working incidents/requests and ensure proper hand-offs when required.
Maintain a professional attitude and provide excellent customer service at all times.
Maintain a good work ethic and assisting other engineers and senior staff when needed.
