AS400 / IBM iSeries - Technical Lead

Technical Skills:

• We are seeking an experienced AS400 professional to join our team as a Lead. As a lead, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of AS400 developers in the design, development, and maintenance of the retail and wholesale applications using the IBM AS400 platform.
• As a lead of the software development team, you will design, develop, optimize, and test applications based on IBMi/RPG-ILE. So, candidate must have a strong working knowledge and skills in AS400, RPG IV, ILE and who is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of the AS400 (IBM iSeries) systems and applications.
• Must have knowledge of IBM i, CLP, and SQL.
• Must have expertise in ILERPG, CLLE, and Jobs (Batch and Interactive).  
• Knowledge of IBM i Change management tools, preferably Aldon.  
• Handle regular workstream of Research incidents and fixes/enhancements when there is no on-call issue
• Design, Code, Test, Debug, and Document software according to systems standards, policies and, procedures, security, and compliance requirements.
• Analyzing business requirements, processes, data sets, and systems to determine and suggest appropriate solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of AS400 developers in the design development and maintenance of the applications
• Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and analyze requirements for the AS400 applications and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design, develop, and enhance software solutions using AS400 programming languages.
• Develop and maintain applications using RPG (RPGLE, RPG/400, Free-format RPG) on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.
• Ability to handle production support.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing RPG and DB2 applications.
• Troubleshoot issues, debug programs, and fix bugs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
