As an IP Network Engineer, you will design, architect, and implement complex IP network infrastructures to meet organizational needs. This role demands a deep understanding of networking protocols, security best practices, and cloud technologies to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of our network environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect advanced IP networks that meet evolving requirements, focusing on high availability, scalability, and security.
Develop IP addressing and routing schemes to optimize network performance, segmentation, and isolation.
Collaborate with security architects to integrate firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs, and other security mechanisms into the network architecture.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality implementations.
Analyze network traffic and performance to identify bottlenecks, implementing solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
Assist in evaluating vendors and selecting networking hardware, including routers, switches, and other critical equipment.
Document all aspects of the network architecture, including design diagrams, configuration templates, and operational procedures.
Stay informed about emerging networking technologies, protocols, and trends, offering strategic recommendations for future improvements.
Required Skills and Experience
Extensive knowledge of IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), network design principles, and industry best practices.
Strong expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VXLAN, SD-WAN, and network virtualization technologies.
Proficiency with network security technologies, including VPNs, firewalls, IPS/IDS, and ACLs.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex network issues.
Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., Azure) and hybrid-cloud architectures.
Relevant certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Exceptional communication skills to effectively translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
