Principal DBA

Position: Sr SQL Database Administrator (DBA)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Sr SQL Database Administrator (Oracle + MySQL or Oracle + Postgresql)with a minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Oracle 19C,MySQL and PostgreSQL database systems, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.

Responsibilities:

1. Database Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related products.

2. Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Monitor database performance and tune system parameters to ensure optimal performance. Ensure the optimal Infrastructure is used.Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

3. Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies. Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.

4. High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms.

5. Security Management: Implement and enforce security best practices, including access control, data encryption, and vulnerability management. Monitor database security and respond to security incidents.

6. Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth and forecast future capacity requirements. Plan and implement capacity upgrades as needed to support business growth.

7. Database Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as database reorganizations, index rebuilds, and statistics updates, to optimize database performance and stability.

8. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve database-related issues and incidents. Work with application developers and support teams to diagnose and troubleshoot problems.

9. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines. Share knowledge and best practices with team members.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Minimum of 12 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator.

- In-depth knowledge of Database architecture, configuration, and administration.

- Proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning in Cloud.

- Experience with database backup and recovery procedures in Cloud.

- Hands-on experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills.

- Relevant certifications (e.g., PostgreSQL Certified Professional) are a plus.

- Knowledge on Oracle DBA experience is must.
