Securly - Backend Architect - Python/Java (10-20 yrs)

Summary :

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Architect to design, develop, and optimize our backend systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend development, a deep understanding of modern architectures, and expertise in multiple programming languages and technologies. This role requires someone who can lead by example, establish best practices, and ensure the backend systems are scalable, cost-effective, and high-performing.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Experience :

- Programming Languages : Expertise in PHP, Python, GoLang, and Java.

- Databases : Deep knowledge of MySQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.

- Scalable Architecture : Proven ability to design and implement scalable and fault-tolerant systems.

- CI/CD Expertise : Hands-on experience with creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

- Cloud Platforms : Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or other cloud providers.

- Containerization : Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.

- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture.

- Excellent knowledge of caching mechanisms, load balancing, and distributed systems.

- Ability to analyze and optimize costs for infrastructure and operations.

- Experience with message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ. (Preferred)

- Familiarity with front-end technologies to collaborate effectively with frontend teams.

- Knowledge of GraphQL and gRPC for building modern APIs.

- Prior experience with agile methodologies and tools like Jira.

What You Will Do :

Architectural Design :

- Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available backend architectures.

- Create cost-effective solutions that optimize performance and resource utilization.

- Ensure the backend systems can handle large-scale traffic and data processing.

Technology Expertise :

- Develop backend solutions using PHP, Python, GoLang, and Java.

- Utilize and optimize databases like MySQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch for high performance.

- Build data pipelines and workflows for efficient processing of large datasets.

DevOps and CI/CD :

- Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid development and deployment.

- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices for reproducible environments.

- Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve system reliability and observability.

Performance Optimization :

- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in system performance.

- Conduct load testing and implement strategies to ensure system reliability under high loads.

- Optimize database queries, caching strategies, and application logic for better performance.

Coding Standards and Best Practices :

- Define and enforce coding standards and best practices to maintain high code quality.

- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to developers to improve their skills.

- Establish robust documentation standards for code, systems, and processes.

Team Leadership :

- Act as a technical mentor for the backend development team.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, product, QA, DevOps) to align on goals and deliverables.

- Drive the adoption of new technologies and tools to improve productivity and maintainability.

Security and Compliance :

- Implement secure coding practices to protect against vulnerabilities.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting :

- Implement effective monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for backend services.

- Lead the resolution of critical production issues with a sense of urgency.
