What You ll Do

• Responsible for setting and maintaining the defined manufacturing process at its optimal level in order to meet the customer requirements across the shop floor.
• Ensure that systems are in place to monitor the health of the process followed and attain best-in-the-industry standards.
• Identify key inputs and output parameters of the defined manufacturing process, understand the relationship between them, and optimize them to meet customer requirements.
• Systematic approach (e.g., Six Sigma approach) to define new manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements on time.
• Arrive at the optimal process settings to achieve a Cp / Cpk of > 1.33.
• Understand machines, hardware, and software required to realize the process.
• Prepare process flow charts.
• Handle NPI projects and update project progress to customers.
• Develop jigs/tools for new products to optimize the process.
• Systematic introduction and qualification of new manufacturing processes required to realize customer requirements.
• Prepare detailed work instructions for operators to operate machines and realize products.
• Define technical capabilities of the machine and process.
• Conduct NPI / Product Engineering meetings to define and validate manufacturing tooling required for processes.
• Perform periodic process health checks through SPC to ensure consistent performance.
• Prepare machine-specific programs and set processes for new products.
• Participate in the CFT to identify and improve processes for consistent yield.
• Interact with suppliers to ensure good process health and systems are in place.
• Train subordinates on processes to achieve multiskilling.
• Set and maintain identified manufacturing processes at optimal levels to meet customer requirements.
• Successfully introduce new manufacturing processes required to meet customer requirements.
• Continuously improve processes to optimize yields and costs.
• Implement machine upkeep programs in line with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
• Installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of SMT equipment.
• Ensure machines are maintained to the best levels and provide constant support to the Factory Operation Team.
• Undertake periodic calibration and maintenance as per machine requirements and update software as needed.

• Yield targets of 97.5% at each manufacturing stage.
• ETE yield monitoring and improvement plan.
• Implementation and monitoring of SPC at critical areas in the manufacturing process flow and achieve 6 Sigma levels.
• Train team members in multiskilling.
• Kaizen and Business Excellence projects for continual improvement.

Who You Are

• 13+ years of experience in the above-defined area, preferably in the EMS industry.
• Working knowledge of key EMS manufacturing processes like NPI, equipment maintenance, SMT process, wave soldering, manual soldering, conformal coating, press fit, potting, and gluing.
• Knowledge of SPC is preferable.
• Knowledge of improvement methodologies like Six Sigma is preferred.
