We are seeking a Network & Security Operations Manager to oversee and support 600+ retail stores, corporate offices, Azure Cloud, data centers, and distribution centers. This role is not a traditional NOC/WAN support role but rather a store-focused operations role that involves proactive monitoring, issue resolution, reporting, ticket management, and anomaly detection. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between IT and business teams, ensuring smooth network operations and security compliance while enhancing overall retail technology support.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations & IT Support -
Serve as the primary IT contact for store network operations, ensuring stable and secure connectivity.
Work directly with store managers, associates, and IT support teams to troubleshoot network and security-related issues.
Provide real-time monitoring, issue tracking, and resolution for network incidents impacting store operations.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with store personnel who may have limited IT experience.
Monitoring, Reporting & Anomaly Detection -
Monitor network health using Splunk, SolarWinds, and other monitoring tools to proactively detect issues.
Analyze trends and anomalies in network performance, security threats, and connectivity issues across all locations.
Generate and present reports on network uptime, incident trends, and performance metrics to IT leadership.
Identify recurring store connectivity issues and drive long-term improvements.
Ticket & Incident Management -
Manage and prioritize tickets for network and security incidents in JIRA and other ITSM tools.
Collaborate with Level 1 & Level 2 support teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Track and document root causes of incidents to improve operational processes.
Work with third-party vendors and managed service providers to escalate unresolved issues.
Network & Security Compliance -
Ensure firewall policies (Fortinet, Palo Alto PAN) and security protocols are adhered to across all locations.
Maintain and update network documentation in JIRA, Smartsheet, Visio/Lucidchart, and OneNote.
Support emergency maintenance and compliance audits for store infrastructure.
Required Experience & Skills
Retail IT & Store Operations Support Experience managing IT/network operations for multi-site retail stores.
Monitoring & Reporting Splunk. Strong analytical skills to identify network performance issues, security threats, and trends.
Ticketing & Incident Management Expertise in JIRA, ServiceNow, or other ITSM tools to track issues and drive resolution.
Customer-Focused IT Support Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical retail staff and business stakeholders.
Network & Security Infrastructure Knowledge – Experience with LAN (Cisco), WLAN (Aruba), and enterprise firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto PAN).
Collaboration & Vendor Management – Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry certifications: ITIL, CCNA, PCNSE (Palo Alto), Fortinet NSE, or other relevant security/network certifications.
Experience with Azure networking and cloud-based IT operations.
Previous experience working in retail, corporate, or supply chain IT environments.
