Job Description: Finance Head (IT COMPANY)

Position Title: Finance Head (Controller Level)

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Location: Navi Mumbai Turbhe

Budget : upto 25 LPA

Note : Ideal candidate should be leading a finance team with minimum 30Cr Turnover company for 3-5 years and have led 3-4 member team

Job Summary

The Finance Head will oversee and manage the organization's financial operations, ensuring efficient financial planning, analysis, reporting, compliance, and risk management. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can establish financial controls and drive profitability while maintaining alignment with the company's overall goals.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's business objectives.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the leadership team to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop long-term financial plans, including capital investment strategies and funding options.

Accounting and Reporting

• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
• Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls and procedures.
• Monitor and review the accuracy of general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers.
• Lead the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes.

Treasury and Cash Flow Management

• Monitor cash flow, ensuring adequate funds for operational needs and growth initiatives.
• Optimize financing strategies, including debt management and cost-effective borrowing. Cost and Inventory Management
• Analyze cost structures and recommend ways to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Collaborate with operations to control inventory costs and optimize working capital.
• Develop and monitor key cost reduction initiatives and productivity improvement measures.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
• Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders as necessary.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, GST, and other statutory filings.
• Maintain corporate governance standards and ensure ethical financial practices. Data Analysis and Business Intelligence
• Leverage financial and operational data to provide actionable insights for business growth.
• Drive the adoption of analytics tools for better financial and operational decision-making.
• Develop performance dashboards and key metrics to track business performance.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
• Ensure effective communication between finance and other departments to align goals and processes.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with banks, financial institutions, and investors to manage relationships and secure funding.
• Act as a key point of contact for board members on financial matters.
• Represent the company in financial discussions with external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory authorities.

Technology and Process Optimization

• Identify and implement technology solutions to streamline financial operations.
• Oversee the automation of routine processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Continuously review and optimize financial workflows to align with industry best practices.

Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience

• Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant (CMA), or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 45 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3–5 years in a corporate role. ● Experience in manufacturing or similar industries is a plus.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial management, and reporting.
• Proficiency in financial software and Tally systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
