About the Role:

Were looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

to join our team. If you have a passion for managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting

role is for you. As a critical team member, youll ensure our databases are fast, secure, and

reliable, helping us deliver exceptional results to our clients. You’ll collaborate with a

talented team of developers and engineers while overlapping with EST time zone hours to

support client needs.

What You’ll Do:

Database Administration:

• Set up, configure, and maintain MySQL database servers across production,

development, and testing environments.

• Optimize database performance, tune queries, and design efficient schemas.
• Implement and manage clustering, replication, and high availability solutions.

Monitoring and Maintenance:

• Keep an eye on database performance and plan for capacity to handle growth.
• Handle routine maintenance tasks like backups, restores, and index optimization.
• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

Security and Compliance:

• Ensure databases are secure by managing user access, encryption, and updates.
• Stay compliant with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Support and Troubleshooting:

• Provide on-call support to resolve database issues quickly.
• Work closely with developers to address performance bottlenecks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system failures to keep things running smoothly.

Collaboration and Reporting:

• Partner with development, QA, and DevOps teams to streamline database processes.
• Document database designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Share regular updates on database performance and health with stakeholders.

Innovation and Improvement:

• Explore and implement improvements to database operations.
• Stay updated on the latest MySQL features and best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

Must-Have Skills:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL database administration.
• Expertise in database architecture, design, and development.
• Solid experience with MySQL replication, clustering, and high availability setups.
• Advanced skills in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery tools like Percona Xtrabackup or MySQL

Enterprise Backup.

• Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., Percona Monitoring and

Management, Zabbix).

• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) for database automation tasks.
• Strong understanding of database security and compliance standards.
• Exposure to cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.

Good to Have:

• Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
• Familiarity with other database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience managing multiple projects and handling diverse client requirements.
• Certifications like MySQL Database Administrator Certification.

• Comfortable working in overlapping EST time zones.

Working Hours:

• You’ll work partially overlapping hours with the US time zone (4 PM –1 AM daily).
• Be ready to handle critical database incidents as part of on-call support.
