Junior Engineer - Projects

Position Overview:

We are seeking a junior engineer to join our team to help manage dozens of active projects concurrently. The junior engineer will handle projects from initiation (quote) to completion (installation), ensuring that they are delivered on time and to the project specifications. The junior engineer will communicate with our partner factories in South East Asia, as well as our US-based group.

The junior engineer manages projects from start to finish by tracking progress, reviewing designs, resolving technical issues, taking preventive actions, and ensuring timely delivery through regular status updates and milestone reviews.

The project lifecycle is: 1. Opportunity, 2. Request for Quote (RFQ), 3. Model Rooms, 4. Production, 5. Shipping, 6. Installation, 7. Post-Sale Service.

Responsibilities for Project Planning and Execution:

Trident Home uses Basecamp (project management software), the Microsoft Office suite, PDF editors, and Drop Box; most of the day would be split between Basecamp, Outlook, AutoCAD, PDF Editors, and Excel.

Overview:

- Regular, accurate, and digestible reporting to the project team

- Reviewing drawings, verifying specifications, and ensuring alignment with the products we are fabricating

- Clear communication of project needs, blockers, and expectations to the following parties: freight forwarders, manufacturing facilities, and US-based team

- Ensure that projects comply with company policies, procedures, and quality standards

Day to day:

- Obtain product drawings from the factory team, verify the drawings against specifications and client requirements, and coordinate modifications with the factory team. If required, make the changes independently.

- Identifying engineering solutions to design challenges

- Responsible for tracking opportunities in Basecamp

- Cleaning and supplementing RFQs in the PDF Editor

- Discussing RFQ with manager before being sending to the partner factories

- Track/monitor timely responses for all pricing from all manufacturing facilities. Note any blockers that would impact the timely delivery

- Documenting specific project requirements (e.g., redlined drawings, required finishes, quote due dates, etc) in Basecamp and Drop Box

- Responsible for tracking model room production (e.g., noting challenges with our factories vendors, modifications to the samples after our internal review)

- Proactively identifying road blocks that may hinder production

- Compile information into PowerPoints for customer information

- Ad-hoc projects

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will be able to undertake a variety of roles and work diligently under pressure. Ideal skills/experience include:

• Must have high speed internet and a computer
• High degree of attention to detail
• Expertise in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Rhino
• Expertise in project management
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge/interest in manufacturing and design.
• Knowledge of international shipping
• Analytical abilities and comfortable with problem-solving, prioritization, and developing process
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite such as Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Amiable personality with ability to work with external partners
• Ability to work well with limited supervision
• Ready to continuous learning in the fields of design and manufacturing.
• Able to process raw information into structured, systematic reports and data, ensuring clear and actionable insights.
