Senior Software Engineer

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ping Directory Administrator / Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize our Ping Directory infrastructure. This role involves configuring, troubleshooting, and ensuring the performance and security of our enterprise directory systems, specifically using PingDirectory solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with directory services, identity management, and LDAP protocols, as well as the ability to work with a variety of security and identity management tools. Key Responsibilities: Ping Directory Administration: Install, configure, and maintain PingDirectory (Ping Identity). Monitor and optimize Ping Directory performance to ensure high availability and efficient operation. Implement and enforce security policies, including access controls and encryption standards. Troubleshoot and resolve complex directory-related issues in a timely manner. Data Management Integration: Integrate Ping Directory with other systems, such as user authentication services, cloud applications, and databases. Manage directory schema changes and ensure data consistency across systems. Support data migrations and synchronization efforts involving Ping Directory. Security and Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal and external security policies, including user data protection, encryption, and audit logging. Implement authentication, authorization, and federation solutions using PingDirectory, such as Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scanning of Ping Directory systems. Performance Monitoring Optimization: Perform system health checks and resource usage monitoring for optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimizing directory search, replication, and access times. Work with monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve system issues. Collaboration Support: Provide technical support and guidance to other teams (e.g., developers, network engineers, security teams) regarding Ping Directory configurations and issues. Document all configurations, changes, troubleshooting steps, and issues in accordance with best practices. Participate in on-call support rotations as needed for Ping Directory-related incidents. Capacity Planning Scalability: Plan for future growth, ensuring that Ping Directory instances scale efficiently to meet increasing demand. Manage replication and failover configurations to ensure high availability. Required Qualifications: Education Experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 3+ years of experience working with Ping Directory, LDAP, or other directory services (e.g., Microsoft AD, OpenLDAP). Familiarity with identity management, federation, and SSO protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect). Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Ping Identity solutions, including PingDirectory and PingFederate. Proficiency in LDAP query language and directory structures. Experience with Unix/Linux administration, shell scripting, and automation tools. Knowledge of network protocols (DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP). Experience with identity and access management (IAM) concepts and tools. Familiarity with security protocols, encryption, and certificate management (SSL/TLS). Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify, analyze, and resolve complex directory issues. Ability to work under pressure and manage incidents effectively. Communication Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide clear documentation for technical issues and solutions.
