Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) Specialist to join our cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the organizations database environment through monitoring, analysis, and response to database activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with DAM solutions, database security best practices, and a passion for cybersecurity.

Preferred candidate profile

• DAM Implementation and Configuration: Configure and manage Database Activity Monitoring tools and solutions (e.g., IBM Guardium, Imperva, McAfee, or similar) to ensure real-time monitoring and reporting of database activities.
• Database Security: Monitor and track unauthorized access, suspicious activities, and changes in databases. Analyze and investigate incidents related to database access, user behavior, and privileges.
• Risk and Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and risk assessments for database systems. Help implement countermeasures for identified vulnerabilities.
• Incident Management: Investigate, analyze, and respond to database-related security incidents. Provide incident reports and recommendations for mitigation strategies.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and internal policies related to database security, including GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and others.
• Reporting and Documentation: Provide detailed reports on database security activities, incidents, and vulnerabilities. Generate periodic reports and dashboards for leadership to assess the security posture.
• Collaboration with IT Security Team: Work closely with other cybersecurity teams to ensure proper security configurations and incident management related to database activities.
• Database Access Management: Monitor user access controls, permissions, and authentication mechanisms to detect any anomalies and ensure compliance with least privilege policies.
• Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions for database administrators and other IT personnel on best practices for database security and DAM tools.
