- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across a group of micro and small companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Maintain general ledgers and ensure timely entry of financial data in Tally, including accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely closure of books on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, following proper procedures.
- Handle payroll processing and ensure accurate salary disbursements, tax deductions, and other related transactions.
- Ensure timely filing of statutory compliances such as GST, TDS, PF, ESI, income tax, and other applicable regulations.
- Monitor and execute monthly, quarterly, and yearly compliance obligations, including ROC filings, income tax returns, and audit requirements for each company in the group.
- Coordinate with external auditors for statutory audits, tax audits, and internal audits, ensuring timely completion and addressing any audit findings.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and government regulations to ensure the group's compliance with new rules and practices.
- Lead and manage the accounting team, ensuring that all team members meet their daily, monthly, and yearly accounting responsibilities.
- Train and mentor the team to improve their efficiency, knowledge of accounting software (Tally), and understanding of compliance requirements.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure that team members complete their duties within deadlines.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the management, highlighting the status of accounting activities, compliance status, cash flow analysis, and other key metrics.
- Provide timely insights and recommendations to management for cost control, tax planning, and operational efficiencies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all financial queries and concerns from management.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or accounting discrepancies.
- Continuously evaluate accounting systems and processes, suggesting improvements where necessary to enhance performance.
- Take full responsibility for the timely completion of all accounting tasks and compliance filings.
- Ensure that deadlines for financial statements, tax filings, and regulatory reports are consistently met.
- Proactively identify risks or delays in any financial or compliance areas and take corrective actions to ensure everything is completed on time.
Key Skills Required:.
- Strong understanding of Tally ERP and financial accounting principles.
- Adequate knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Experience managing a team of accountants in a multi-company environment.
- Excellent time management and ability to work under tight deadlines.
