Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer to join our team and contribute to the documentation of our Data Warehouse platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data management, business intelligence, and data warehousing concepts, along with the ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation for both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation for our Data Warehouse platform, including user guides, API documentation, system architecture, data models, and troubleshooting guides.
• Work closely with data engineers, software developers, and product managers to gather technical information and translate complex concepts into clear and easy-to-understand documents.
• Produce documentation for different audiences, including internal development teams, data analysts, and end-users, ensuring content is tailored to the appropriate technical level.
• Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and reflects the latest platform features, functionality, and improvements.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to document test cases, known issues, and resolutions.
• Develop and maintain release notes, update logs, and feature documentation for new product updates and versions.
• Create data dictionaries and schema documentation to ensure clear understanding of data structures and workflows.
• Review and edit content produced by other team members for consistency, clarity, and adherence to style guides.
• Implement best practices for version control and content management to ensure all documentation is organized and easily accessible.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data warehousing and business intelligence to ensure relevant documentation practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Writing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a technical writer, preferably within the data warehousing, business intelligence, or software development fields (2+ years preferred).
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools.
• Experience in documenting technical workflows, APIs, system architecture, and databases.
• Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of SQL and ability to understand database structures and queries is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes and tools like JIRA or similar project management platforms is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud-based data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
• Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
• Understanding of data privacy and security principles as they relate to documentation.
• Experience with diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Microsoft Visio) for illustrating data flows and architectures.
