We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Lab Incharge to oversee our laboratory operations and ensure the highest quality standards for our products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct chemical, mechanical, metallurgical, and corrosion testing of incoming raw materials and finished balls for laboratory inspection.
• Prepare inspection reports based on test results and findings.
• Verify suppliers' and mill's test certificates for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Perform in-process inspection of heat-treated batches for microstructure and hardness.
• Prepare samples for microstructure analysis (mounting, polishing, grinding).
• Conduct portable hardness testing.
• Assist in calibration activities and maintain calibration standards.
• Ensure the maintenance of laboratory documents, standards, and records.
• Communicate with external laboratories for third-party analysis when required.
• Verify labels during the packaging process for proper compliance.
• Handle relevant Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) activities.
• Manage the preservation, retention, and disposal of tested samples.
• Monitor monthly consumption of lab reagents and ensure inventory is managed effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualification:
  
• HSC Science
• Diploma in Mechanical/Metallurgy Engineering
• Skills Required:
  
1. In-depth knowledge of chemical, metallurgical, and mechanical inspection of steel products.
2. Understanding of applicable standards and proficiency in measuring & testing equipment.
3. Familiarity with heat treatment processes.
4. Knowledge of product requirements and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).
5. Computer proficiency for lab data management and report generation.
6. Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
7. Familiarity with Quality & Environmental System standards.
8. Expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
9. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Industry Experience: Metal/Steel industry preferred.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role in a laboratory or quality control environment.
• Maximum of 7 years of experience.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
