This role reports to the Director, Datacenter & Cloud Operations.

The role will provide guidance and solution design for a global, multi-cloud architecture supporting a hybrid cloud model across multiple operating companies. The role will partner with infrastructure and product team leads to modernize both infrastructure and application architecture, driving towards best practices around Infrastructure as Code, DevOps and associated cloud native platforms.

This role will be an active member of the Cloud Center of Excellence, working closely with a cross-functional team of Cloud Architects, Security Architects, Application Developers and other business functions to define and govern best practices in Cloud Operations, Application Development and Platform Governance. This role will be a hands-on Cloud Architect, delivering detailed designs in all aspects of Cloud Services and platform design from networking, storage and compute to various PaaS and integrated SaaS services.

You are :

- Comprehensive knowledge of Cloud Services and Design across Azure and AWS.

- Comprehensive knowledge of modern DevOps practices and toolsets: Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, CI/CD tools and DevSecOps tools.

- Comprehensive knowledge of managing Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform.

- Knowledge of Cloud financial savings tactics and strategies.

- Strong collaboration skills with an ability to foster consensus among a diverse team.

- Ability to work autonomously and in group settings

- Ability to show motivation and initiative in order to carry projects and tasks to fruition.

- Ability to drive and manage vendor support relationships.

- Experience with architecting lab or proof of concepts and recommending solutions and installation plans.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on critical thinking and problem-solving.

- Must have a positive attitude and be solution-oriented.

- Experience with implementing and operating VMWare and other virtualization or container solutions

- Ability to mentor and provide guidance on best practice principles around Cloud Design and DevOps

- Competent with monitoring techniques, tools, alerting, and notification processes.

- Proficient in leading a team to troubleshoot and deliver viable solutions.

- Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change quickly.

- Degree in Computer related topic or equivalent work experience, AWS Certified Solution Architect and/or Azure Solutions Architect preferred.

- More than 7 years of experience working with Cloud technologies as an Engineer and Architect.

- Experience designing and delivering complex, Hybrid Cloud Infrastructures.

- Experience delivering Infrastructure as Code.

- Experience with hardware platforms including SANs, bare metal servers, blade structures and hypervisors.

- Experience with DevOps practices and toolsets, some development background preferred.

- Strong with at least one scripting language such as Python.

- Engaging presentation style, with the ability to control and manage multiple presentation scenarios

- Ability to work under pressure and work on multiple campaigns at the same time

- Professional Level Certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect)

Job Duties :

- Lead collaborative design workshops with a cross-functional team of internal customers and vendors.

- Provide expert-level guidance on Cloud design decisions, standards, and operational practices.

- Maintain deep, comprehensive knowledge of Operating Company application portfolios.

- Lead initiatives to construct and develop landing zones that meet vendor best practices and security standards.

- Audit implemented landing zones to ensure best practices and security standard are met.

- Provide understanding and knowledge of cloud migration strategies.

- Evaluate existing systems and provide technical direction to IT support staff.

- Recognize and develop opportunities to leverage Cloud native patterns and practices to drive business value.

- Responsible for understanding cloud and platform security standard with the ability to assist in implantation of those standards.

- Create metrics and review operational performance indicators to ensure effectiveness and efficiency and makes recommendations for improvement

- Incident management and resolution on outages in relation to Cloud Infrastructure.

- As a senior technical member of the team, deliver hands-on configuration, development, and integration services and serve in a delivery assurance capacity for all project deliverables.

- Plan and implement POC initiatives for Cloud-based solutions aimed at meeting identified business problems.

- Develop, maintain and communicate architectural standards and patterns.
