Key Responsibilities

Maintain a detailed inventory of tools and equipment, and ensure their proper storage and maintenance.

Supervise tool room staff, including scheduling, training, and managing performance.

Work closely with production departments to understand their tool requirements and ensure timely availability.

Implement and monitor systems for tracking the toolroom activity and process management.

Develop and maintain process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the procurement of new tools or the repair of existing ones.

Assist in budget preparation for the tool room operations and monitor expenditures.

Conduct regular audits of tools and equipment to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Resolve any issues related to tool performance or employee conflicts within the tool room.

Maintain and report about daily progress to Project running

Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in tool room technologies and management practices.

Prepare reports summarizing tool room activities, challenges, and resource needs.

Collaborate with other department heads to streamline operations and support the overall production workflow.

To qualify for an Operations position, candidates need the following:

• An associates degree in tool and die technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field. A bachelors degree is often preferred.
• Significant experience in tool room operations or a similar role, typically requiring at least 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of computer-aided design (CAD) software and other related technologies used in tool manufacturing and maintenance.
• Certifications in tool design, inventory management, or lean manufacturing can strengthen a candidate's qualifications.
