Role Overview:
The Sales Manager Events will lead the sales strategy for our event management services, driving business development, customer acquisition, and revenue growth. This managerial role requires an individual with significant experience in event sales, team leadership, and a deep understanding of the event industry. The Sales Manager willbe responsible for overseeing the sales team, building strong client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional events and a proven track record in managing a sales team to success.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth for our event management services.
- Identify new business opportunities, manage key client relationships, and enhance the companys brand presence in the events industry.
- Lead the sales process from lead generation through to closing, ensuring a high conversion rate and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of sales proposals, ensuring they align with client needs and business objectives.
Team Management & Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and lead a dynamic sales team, ensuring targets and KPIs are met consistently.
- Provide ongoing coaching and training to the sales team to improve their skills, performance, and overall sales effectiveness.
- Motivate and inspire the team to exceed individual and collective sales goals, maintaining a positive and high-performance culture.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with new and existing clients, becoming a trusted advisor in their event planning and execution needs.
- Work closely with clients to understand their event requirements and propose tailored solutions to meet their objectives.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Ensure timely follow-up and exceptional service post-sale to maintain long-term client relationships and repeat business.
Market & Competitor Analysis:
- Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry changes to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Conduct market research to identify new target audiences, niche segments, and business opportunities.
Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
- Track sales metrics, prepare regular reports, and provide insights on sales performance, forecasts, and pipeline management.
- Present regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting opportunities, risks, and achievements.
- Use data analytics to measure success and adjust strategies for continuous improvement.
Event Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the event management team to ensure smooth execution of events and deliver a high level of service to clients.
- Participate in post-event evaluations and use feedback to enhance the sales approach and client experience for future projects.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Experience & Leadership:
- Minimum of 8 to 15 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the events industry.
- Proven success in leading and developing a high-performing sales team.
- Strong background in business development, with a focus on acquiring and managing large-scale clients in the event management space.
Sales Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of the events industry, including event planning, logistics, and the challenges faced by clients.
- Strong track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Skilled in sales presentations, negotiations, and closing deals.
Communication & Negotiation:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to close deals while ensuring long-term client satisfaction.
- Ability to articulate the value proposition of event management services effectively.
Strategic & Analytical Thinking:
- Ability to think strategically, identify growth opportunities, and adapt to changes in the market.
- Strong analytical skills to assess sales performance and make data-driven decisions.
Client-Centric Approach:
- Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring a seamless and successful client experience.
- Ability to understand and anticipate client needs, providing tailored event solutions that exceed expectations.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Professional certifications related to event management or sales are a plus.
