Associate Director Supply Chain, Goa

Role & responsibilities

1. Demand Forecasting and Analysis:

• Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for pharmaceutical products, incorporating historical data, market trends, product life cycles, and sales inputs.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate changes, new product launches, and regulatory approvals into demand forecasts.
• Continuously monitor and adjust demand plans to align with market fluctuations and changing customer needs, ensuring optimal product availability.

2. Supply Planning

• Translate demand forecasts into actionable supply plans that optimize manufacturing, procurement, and Dispatch plan.
• To follow monthly planning cycle timetable

3. Monthly MPS and site consensus meeting

• Lead the planning process to ensure alignment between supply and demand across all functional areas of the organization.
• Present forecasts, supply constraints, and demand trends to senior management, recommending adjustments to meet business goals.
• Act as a key decision-maker in balancing demand and supply strategies, considering operational capacity and regulatory guidelines.

4. Material Planning and Procurement

• Develop and execute material requirement plans (MRP) to ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and other inputs.
• Coordinate with procurement teams to manage supplier relationships and ensure on-time delivery of materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock while avoiding shortages or overstocking.

5. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:

• Ensure that all supply and demand planning processes comply with regulatory requirements from authorities such as the FDA, EMA
• Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to manage supply chain impacts from product recalls, regulatory changes, or new market authorizations.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply disruptions, shortages of critical materials, or regulatory non-compliance.

6. Production Planning Coordination and improvement

• Work closely with the production team to align manufacturing schedules with demand forecasts and regulatory constraints.
• Ensure production capacity is utilized efficiently, balancing long lead times and production bottlenecks to meet demand targets.

• Optimizing the planning Processes
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues to optimize performance
• Gap analysis of Planning Process and improvements
• Applying conceptual knowledge of business processes and technology to solve highly complex business processes and procedural problems
• Responsible for tracking key project activities at a detailed level including administrative items associated with a complex technical SAP deployment
• Lead AOP/ LBE Exercise to submit timely information prior to analysis

7. Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Analyze key supply chain performance metrics such as forecast accuracy, on-time full delivery, and service levels.
• Prepare and present regular reports on demand and supply planning performance, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
• Utilization of ERP systems to optimize planning processes and improve OTIF

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Serve as a liaison between production, M&ST, Packing site, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement and Market teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution of supply chain activities.
• Lead cross-functional meetings to review and resolve supply chain challenges, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and engaged in decision-making.
• Support new product launches by aligning manufacturing and supply chain plans with market introduction timelines.

9. Risk Management

• Develop contingency plans to address risks, including demand fluctuations, supplier disruptions, and production delays.
• Monitor supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively.

10. OpEx Initiatives

• Identify improvement processes and collaborate with OPEX team for implementation.

11. MDG (Master Data Governance):

• Master data validation and maintenance with current business scenarios for the campus
• To ensure consistency in SAP master data for planning and adhering to the SAP MRP Process.
• Deploying SAP ENT solutions and ensuring smooth system integration.

12. Skills and Competencies

• Knowledge of GMP, regulatory compliance, and pharmaceutical industry standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work across functions and levels.
• Advanced proficiency in supply chain planning tools and Excel.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in demand planning, production scheduling, and inventory management.
• Familiarity with supply chain risk management practices

13. Experience

• 15-18 years of experience in end-to-end supply chain planning, preferably in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry.
• Expertise in demand forecasting, production scheduling, and material planning.
• Proven track record of using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP ENT, Oracle, Kinaxis).

14. Education:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Pharma, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Preferred Advanced degree MBA in Supply Chain, Operation or Equivalent certifications.
