• Previous hands-on software development experience is a plus
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team; ensuring the adoption of best practices; design principles; and coding standards.
• Experience in delivering Java (or any other JVM language) based software solutions while utilizing application frameworks like Spring Boot; Spring WebFlux; Kotlin etc.
• Inspire the engineering team to deliver clean; efficient code based on industry standards and modern software design principles like SOLID.
• Strong knowledge of software and architectural design patterns.
• Experience with test suites like Junit; Mockito; and Wire mock
• Create good quality technical documentation including high level and component level design documents
• Comfortable with DevOps practices involving configuration management; CI/CD pipelines; IaaC; deployment patterns among others
• Guide the team in delivering efficient and cost-effective solutions using cloud platforms like Azure.
• Strong knowledge on containerization and orchestration tools like docker and Kubernetes
• Utilize security standard tools like SonarQube; Snyk; and Kenna to ensure the adherence to security best practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Oversee application performance management (APM) and asset monitoring using tools such as Splunk and New Relic; identifying optimization opportunities and ensuring seamless system operation.

• Lead and manage a diverse team of software engineers; fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages creativity and growth.
• Conduct regular performance assessments; provide constructive feedback; and guide career development plans for team members.
• Cultivate a culture of learning and knowledge sharing; organizing workshops; training sessions; and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Project Management:

• Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle; from requirement analysis and design to implementation; testing; and deployment.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to define project scopes; objectives; and timelines; ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Monitor project progress; identify potential risks; and proactively address issues to keep projects on track.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams; translating technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product Owners; Technical Programme Managers; Quality engineering teams; and UX/UI designers to ensure seamless integration of features and functionalities.
• Act as a point of contact for client communication; addressing inquiries; gathering feedback; and managing expectations.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the development process; optimizing efficiency; quality; and team performance.
• Stay current with industry trends; emerging technologies; and best practices; integrating relevant advancements into the teams workflow.
