DevOps Lead - Cloud Infrastructure (10-16 yrs)

Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with over 10 years of expertise in building and maintaining scalable infrastructure, automating workflows, and ensuring high availability for our applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of DevOps practices across our organization, bridging the gap between development, operations, and business teams. This role requires a strong background in cloud technologies (especially AWS and Google Cloud Platform), containerization, orchestration, and leadership skills to guide a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities :

- Infrastructure Management : Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure on cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or on-premises.

- Cloud Expertise (AWS & GCP) : Architect and manage solutions on AWS services like EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, and on GCP services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, ensuring optimal use of cloud-native technologies.

- Automation & Configuration Management : Build automation scripts for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

- CI/CD Pipeline Development : Lead the development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or Github Actions.

- Containerization & Orchestration : Oversee the implementation and management of containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

- Monitoring & Logging : Implement monitoring and alerting systems (using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure the health and performance of infrastructure and applications.

- Collaboration & Mentorship : Work closely with cross-functional teams (development, QA, operations) to ensure smooth and efficient development-to-production workflows. Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership on best practices.

- Team Leadership & Management : Lead and manage a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance. Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide coaching to team members.

- Security & Compliance (DevOps Security) : Ensure secure, compliant, and automated infrastructure, integrating security practices into the development and deployment pipeline.

- Incident Response & Troubleshooting : Lead incident response efforts, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of system outages or performance issues.

- Cloud Architecture : Design and optimize cloud architectures on AWS and GCP, ensuring cost efficiency, scalability, and performance in the cloud environment.

- Performance Tuning & Optimization : Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply tuning techniques to ensure optimal performance of the infrastructure and applications.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 10+ years of experience in DevOps roles.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git), automation tools, and experience with Jenkins.

- In-depth knowledge of AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and their core services such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3 (AWS), GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage (GCP).

- Expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts).

- Extensive experience with configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).

- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).

- Strong knowledge of networking, databases (RDS), and server architecture.

- Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with the ability to foster collaboration, mentorship, and high performance.

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate effectively with teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications in AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or similar.

- Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and Docker Swarm.

- Familiarity with serverless computing and microservices architecture.
