Job Title : OBD HIL Test Engineer
Experience : 6 to 10 years
Location : Bangalore
We are seeking a highly skilled OBD HIL Test Engineer with extensive experience in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD). The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in CAPL scripting, automotive protocols, and tools like CANoe, CANape, Vtest Studio, and CANDela Studio. The role involves working on cutting-edge automotive technologies and requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform HIL testing for automotive systems, focusing on OBD functionalities.
- Develop, implement, and execute automated test scripts using Vtest Studio.
- Write and execute test cases based on system and component requirements.
- Hands-on experience with automotive tools such as CANoe, CANape, CANDela Studio, and Vtest Studio.
- Strong programming and scripting knowledge, specifically in CAPL (Vector).
- Proficiency in automotive communication protocols like CAN, OBD, and UDS.
- Knowledge of additional protocols like Ethernet and LIN is an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience in ECU testing and validation.
- Understand and analyze OBD requirements and translate them into effective test cases.
- Set up HIL test environments and conduct regression tests on new software releases.
- Identify, document, and report defects effectively, ensuring thorough debugging and resolution.
- Prepare and maintain test reports, test plans, and test documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support vehicle diagnostics and software development.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure functional correctness and performance of the vehicle's OBD systems.
- Implement testing best practices, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain version control of scripts, test cases, and test execution results.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying process inefficiencies and suggesting improvements.
- Conduct peer reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers in the team.
- Participate in technical discussions, brainstorming sessions, and design reviews related to HIL testing.
- Assist in preparing test strategies and risk assessments to ensure robustness in testing methodologies.
