DR Analyst / Expert

• We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled IT Disaster Recovery Expert to develop, implement, and manage disaster recovery plans and strategies for our IT infrastructure.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and in-depth knowledge of disaster recovery (DR) processes, business continuity planning (BCP), and risk management.
• This role is crucial in ensuring that our organization s IT systems, data, and operations can quickly recover and continue to function in the event of a disaster, minimizing downtime and data loss.

• Understand / Document and champion the benefits of BCP & DR, Request, Knowledge Management and other IT Service Management processes across zones and regions
• Drive Training & Awareness of BCP/DR topic across zones of ABI.
• Develop performance measures and consistently report metrics to IT Services Leadership teams
• Assist with the design and develop process to ensure the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and supporting Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) are published and met by support teams.
• Liaison with the Analytics team, define metrics and help create dashboards reflecting conformance and performance per documented standards (Industry / Internal and Zone specific)
• Lead continual service improvement and ongoing process maturity through regular reviews of the process and tools, trend analysis and metrics reporting and through regular engagement with stakeholders.
• Develop and lead cross-process compliance across the IT Organization (Business, Tech and Ops)

• Develop, implement, and regularly update the organization s IT disaster recovery (DR) plan, ensuring alignment with overall business continuity (BCP) and organizational goals.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders (IT, operations, business units) to define recovery objectives (RTO, RPO) and critical IT systems and applications that must be prioritized during recovery.
• Identify potential risks to the IT infrastructure and design DR strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive disaster recovery testing schedule, including simulated disaster recovery exercises.

Risk Assessment and Impact Analysis:

• Perform regular risk assessments and business impact analyses (BIA) to evaluate potential vulnerabilities and develop appropriate recovery strategies.
• Identify gaps in disaster recovery procedures and work with other teams to ensure a unified response to crises.

Recovery Infrastructure Management:

• Ensure that DR infrastructure (eg, backup systems, offsite storage, cloud recovery environments) is in place, fully functional, and tested.
• Manage backup solutions for critical systems, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and security.
• Work with cloud and infrastructure vendors to ensure cloud disaster recovery solutions are integrated and regularly tested.

Monitoring and Reporting:

• Monitor and maintain disaster recovery systems, ensuring they are operational and able to recover systems within agreed-upon timelines.
• Create and manage disaster recovery documentation, including runbooks, checklists, and reporting on test results and actual recovery events.
• Provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders regarding DR readiness, testing outcomes, and improvements.

Training and Awareness:

• Conduct training sessions for IT teams and other departments on disaster recovery procedures, tools, and protocols.
• Promote awareness of disaster recovery and business continuity plans across the organization to ensure team readiness in case of an event.

Continuous Improvement:

• Review and improve the disaster recovery strategy based on lessons learned from tests, actual events, and changes in IT infrastructure.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to disaster recovery and business continuity.

• Mentor junior members of the team on business, process and technology topics
• Contribute actively to collaboration, team building and engagement activities that foster a positive working environment and culture.
