Job Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced ServiceNow CMDB Developer to join our IT Service Management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of the ServiceNow CMDB (Configuration Management Database) to ensure the efficient management of IT assets and configuration items. This role requires deep knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, CMDB best practices, and experience in designing and maintaining CMDB solutions.

Responsibilities:

CMDB Design & Configuration:
- Design, implement, and manage CMDB processes, including the discovery, classification, and relationship mapping of configuration items (CIs).
- Develop and customize ServiceNow CMDB using best practices and align with organizational needs.
- Maintain and optimize the CMDB data model for accurate, up-to-date IT asset and configuration management.
Integrations:
- Integrate ServiceNow CMDB with other systems, such as discovery tools, asset management, and monitoring solutions, to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Work with external systems and data sources to maintain data synchronization.
Automation & Data Quality:
- Develop business rules, data transformations, and workflows to automate CMDB data population and updates.
- Enforce data quality standards and conduct regular audits of the CMDB for accuracy and completeness.
Incident, Problem, and Change Management:
- Collaborate with the ITSM team to support incident, problem, and change management processes utilizing the CMDB.
- Implement and maintain CMDB integrations with change and incident management to ensure alignment between IT services and infrastructure.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Create custom reports and dashboards in ServiceNow to track CMDB health, service dependencies, and configuration item status.
- Provide regular reporting on CMDB performance, quality, and compliance.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT Operations, Service Management, and Security teams, to ensure alignment between CMDB and business processes.
- Document and update CMDB design and process workflows, including user guides and troubleshooting documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience with ServiceNow CMDB, ServiceNow Discovery, and related modules (e.g., Service Catalog, Change Management, Incident Management).
Strong understanding of ITIL processes and the role of CMDB within IT Service Management.
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform development, including scripting (JavaScript, Glide API), custom applications, and integration.
Experience with CMDB data modeling, data quality, and automation in ServiceNow.
Solid knowledge of relational databases and data management best practices.
Familiarity with IT asset management and Configuration Item (CI) management.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in CMDB or related modules.
Experience with ServiceNow Orchestration, ServiceNow IntegrationHub, and other ServiceNow tools.
Familiarity with cloud-based IT infrastructure and its integration with ServiceNow.
Knowledge of IT operations, network configurations, and monitoring tools.
