We are seeking for Lead piping Stress Engineer for Gandhinagar location.
Purpose: The Pipe Stress Engineer is responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of piping systems within oil and gas facilities. This role involves performing detailed stress analyses to prevent failures, optimize designs, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. The engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support the design and construction of safe and efficient piping systems.
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive stress analysis of piping systems using industry-standard software to ensure safety and compliance with applicable codes and standards. - Collaborate with design and engineering teams to review and optimize piping layouts, recommending modifications to reduce stress and enhance system performance. - Design and specify pipe supports, expansion joints, and other components to manage thermal expansion, vibration, and dynamic forces. - Ensure all piping systems adhere to relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8. - Prepare detailed reports and documentation of stress analysis results, including recommendations for design improvements. - Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases to address any stress-related issues. - Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential stress-related risks.
Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering - Minimum of 8+ years of experience in pipe stress analysis within the oil and gas industry. - Strong understanding of industry codes and standards, such as ASME, API, and ANSI. - Experience with the design and analysis of piping systems in upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas operations.
Software Skills: - Proficiency in pipe stress analysis software such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, or similar tools. - Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, or SmartPlant. - Basic knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) software is a plus. - Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting.
