Technical Writer - Automotive

Job Purpose

As a member of the Technical Documentation team, you will work together with Engineering to design, create and maintain technical documentation in a variety of formats and media. You will work closely with different departments such as UI/UX, Vendors and PMO to gather information, understand complex technical concepts, and translate them into clear and concise written content. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This is a full-time role for a Technical Writer at Tecdra engineering solutions.

Experience

• Experience/Knowledge working in Technical Manuals such as Owners Manual, Service Manuals, Repair Manuals.
  
• Good knowledge and skill in interpreting technical data with respect to engineering subsystems and systems.
  
• Previous experience documenting complex products in the Automotive, Mechanical and Aerospace domains.
  
• Experience adhering to a writing style guide
  
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and design documents.
  
• Must be interested in gathering and collating technical information
  
• Good interpersonal skills, agility and task orientation
  
• Must be able to deliver on-time and should be able to work in tight schedules.
  
• Releases and/or maintains the Clients product specification documents UpToDate in web portal.
  
• Familiarisation with the ECN reading, analysis and implementation.
  
• Basic understanding of the serviceability and aftersales concept of a product.
  

Qualifications

• Total 1 to 5 years of experience as a technical writer.
  
• Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Automotive, Aeronautical, Biomedical, Marine)
  
• Any technical writing degree or certification is preferable not mandatory.
  
• Having experience working with any of the mechanical product OEMs.
  

Tools Experience

• Good proficiency with Adobe InDesign and MS Office tools (word, excel and PowerPoint)
  
• Basic understanding of Illustration and Adobe illustrator
  
• Having knowledge on tools like Arbor text, 3D Cortona, or any other authoring tools etc. will be an added advantage.
