PLC Programmer - Siemens PLM (1-5 yrs)

Job Role : PLC Programmer

Location : Chennai

Experience : 1-5 Years

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, and implement PLC programs using platforms such as SIEMENS (Step7, TIA Portal, WINCC), Allen-Bradley (AB), and Omron.

- Create, modify, and troubleshoot HMI interfaces to ensure smooth interaction between the operator and the control system.

- Provide effective debugging and troubleshooting support during the installation and commissioning phases.

- Implement and manage various industrial communication protocols such as Profibus, ProfiNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet, Modbus, and OPC Server.

- Integrate PLC systems with other control systems, sensors, and devices for efficient communication and data exchange.

- Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for control systems.

- Use AutoCAD, SEE Electric, and EPLAN Electric for the preparation of detailed electrical designs.

- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and specifications during design and installation phases.

- Develop electrical equipment layout proposals, considering system requirements and space constraints.

- Perform calculations for power consumption and capacity (e.g., 400V, 24V systems) and design material estimations.

- Prepare and review wiring and communication layouts for new automation systems.

- Stay current with the latest advancements in automation technologies to enhance system performance.

- Continuously improve system efficiency by implementing best practices and the latest technologies.

- Oversee and participate in the installation and commissioning of automation systems and equipment.

- Provide support during the testing phase to ensure proper functioning of the control systems.

- Ensure smooth handover of projects, including all necessary documentation and training for end-users.

- Prepare detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and specifications for the required control system components.
