Engineer - Contract and Procurement

Role & responsibilities

• Assess and qualify vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability to ensure effective procurement decisions.
• Draft and distribute Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to potential vendors, clearly outlining product/service specifications and requirements.
• Conduct detailed cost analyses to identify the most cost-effective procurement options, while adhering to budget constraints and quality standards.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and warranties. Manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance with agreed terms.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure purchased materials meet the required quality standards.
• Oversee the entire ordering process, from requisition through to delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster long-term partnerships and achieve potential cost savings.
• Act as the primary point of contact between TLE Project teams and suppliers, addressing technical specifications or resolving issues as needed.
• Monitor and track electrical system costs throughout the project, ensuring the budget is adhered to and proposing cost-effective solutions where necessary.
• Collaborate with TLE Project managers and engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of electrical components and materials for ongoing projects. Track the status of procurement orders and resolve any delays or issues that arise.
• Assist TLE team in developing electrical system designs for new construction projects.
• Prepare the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for Electrical services, as required, to support the site team.
• Provide support for other MEP services (HVAC, Fire & Plumbing etc) as needed, including floating the BOQ and obtaining priced quotations from reputable vendors.
