Engineering Manager - Payment System (8-15 yrs)

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager/Tech Lead to lead our Cards team, responsible for developing and maintaining our card systems, giving technical direction and development of our software products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, expertise in the cards domain, and excellent leadership and mentorship skills.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of card payment processing systems (POS, ATM, etc.).

- Defining the architecture of the system, including integrations with external schemes and partners (VISA, MasterCard, etc.).

- Understanding the flow of card transactions, from authorization to settlement.

- Implementing real-time processing for POS and ATM transactions.

- Handling transaction authorization, clearing, and settlement processes.

- Optimizing transaction routing and ensuring compliance with industry standards (PCI,DSS, EMV).

- Integrating with different ATM vendors and POS terminals, ensuring compatibility and security.

- Collaborating with various payment schemes like VISA, MasterCard, UnionPay, etc., for seamless transaction flow.

- Handling settlement, reconciliation, and dispute management with payment schemes.

- Working on interoperability between different payment methods and ensuring smooth cross-border transactions.

- Ensuring that the systems are compliant with global standards like PCI DSS and local regulations.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems

- Should be able to lead a team which can have up to 10 members

- Mentor and guide team members to ensure high-quality software development

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the cards domain

- Collaborate with product owners to define and prioritize project requirements

- Ensure system scalability, reliability, and security

- Develop and maintain technical documentation

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards

- Provide technical vision and direction for software products

- Lead research and development efforts to explore new technologies and solutions

- Demonstrate expertise in multiple technical domains

- Be open to lead other domains if required

Skills & Experience :

Card Transaction Systems :

- Experience working with transaction authorization, clearing, and settlement processes.

Payment Schemes :

- Knowledge of major card networks like VISA, MasterCard, and others.

- Understanding how transactions are routed, cleared, and settled across different schemes.

ATM/POS Systems :

- Expertise in ATM networks, POS terminals, and transaction routing mechanisms.

Tokenization and Cryptography :

- Experience with card data tokenization, encryption, and securing cardholder data.

Compliance Standards :

- Deep understanding of PCI-DSS and other regulatory frameworks.

API Integration :

- Experience in integrating with various payment gateway APIs, third-party services, and external systems.

Requirements :

- 9+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on cards domain

- Should be from strong background - Tier 1 college/Fintech

- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as PCI-DSS, tokenization, different type of card payments, recon, card issuer as a service

- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java

- Experience with card payment processing systems, such as Visa, Mastercard, or Amex

- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills

- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field

Nice to Have :

- Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure

- Familiarity with agile development methodologies

- Certification in cards domain
