The Data Measurement and Reporting Analyst will play a technical support role on a team of 5 to 10 advisors and analysts. The team is responsible for the rapid development, quality review, and completion of 50 to 100 ad hoc reporting requests per week from business operations (claim, provider, call, client, legal, and compliance matrix partners). The output of the reports contains business intelligence including claim details, call details, client-level information, etc. The work environment is fast-paced and embedded within the business operation, affording the Data Measurement and Reporting Analyst and team to work directly with numerous business owners who serve our customers, clients, and providers. Establishes mutual levels of respect and trust with manager and teammates.
This role supports day-to-day inventory management across the team, including managing one's workload independently. The incumbent requires basic to intermediate technical skills in SQL, SSIS, SAS, and Microsoft Access, to complete basic and moderately complex and/or time-sensitive requests.
Gathering business requirements, and communicating through phone calls, Webex meetings, and written correspondence through Web Messenger and Outlook are essential to successful performance.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and deliver ad hoc reports daily, using basic to intermediate technical skills, to ensure reporting SLAs are met. This includes working with the Data Measurement and Reporting Manager and teammates to manage one's assignments based on capacity, complexity, and business partner escalations.
- Manage the quality review of ad hoc reporting output, critical to ensure reports are delivered accurately, the first time, as perceived by our requesting matrix partner.
- Protect the confidentiality of data by ensuring reports are delivered in the appropriate medium, to the appropriate internal audience.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent 1-3 years of proven experience in basic to intermediate SQL, SSIS, SAS, Tableau, Python, Microsoft Office, and other related software, is required.
SQL (Structured Query Language) :
- Ability to write queries, using joins, subqueries, aggregation functions, views, indexing, pivoting, numeric calculations, stored procedures, and/or other basic to intermediate techniques.
- Ability to work across one or more DBMS (Oracle, SQL, etc).
- Relevant SQL certificates, training programs, and projects demonstrating SQL proficiency.
SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) :
- Knows how to build or support ETL (extract, transform, and load) processes in code.
- Ability to efficiently load, copy, and download large files.
- SAS programming - Basic skills for data access and generation of large-size files.
- Microsoft Access - Ability to effectively manipulate queries and databases to create output.
- Success working with a team in a fast-paced demand and delivery environment is required.
- Experience working with health insurance operations (claim, call, client, provider) is preferred.
- The ability to acquire systems domain and business knowledge, to translate business requirements into what's needed, why, how to query for data needed, and how to visualize the reporting output, is required.
- The ability to draw upon subject matter expertise with team members and business customers is required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
