Job Description



Software Requirements:
  • Strong development and troubleshooting skills, particularly in Java and Calypso APIs.
  • Proven expertise with Calypso v16 or above, specifically for the commodity asset class.


    • Overall Responsibilities:
  • Develop new features and enhancements for various desks and operations users related to Calypso at US Bank, utilizing Java and Calypso APIs.
  • Participate in planning sessions, estimate work, conduct testing, and provide Level 2 (L2) support.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain back-office applications on the Calypso platform to support commodity trading operations.
  • Collaborate with operations and trade support teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions that optimize trade processing and settlement.
  • Implement and maintain workflows for trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation processes.


    • Category-wise Technical Skills:

    Core Technical Skills:
  • Java development (minimum 5 years).
  • Expertise in Calypso APIs.
  • Experience with Calypso v16 or above.
  • Customizations in Calypso, including Scheduled Tasks, Reports, and Engines.
  • Knowledge of Calypsos message and sender frameworks.


    • Additional Technical Skills (Nice-to-Have):
  • Cloud Technologies:AWS.
  • Containerization:Kubernetes.
  • Monitoring Tools:Grafana.
  • Build Tools:Maven, Jenkins.
  • CI/CD:Cloudbees.
  • Business Acumen:Understanding of derivative products.
  • Certifications:Microsoft Certified:Dynamics 365 or Microsoft Certified:Azure Solutions Architect Expert is a plus.


    • Experience:
  • 6-15 years of experience in software development, focusing on Java and Calypso systems.
  • Strong understanding of commodities trading processes, including trade settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.


    • Day-to-Day Activities:
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze project requirements.
  • Develop, test, and deploy applications and features on the Calypso platform.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues related to Calypso applications.
  • Prepare documentation for system configurations, processes, and user guides.
  • Conduct regular meetings with operations and trade support teams to ensure alignment on project objectives.


    • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Java development or Calypso systems are a plus.


    • Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
