Job Description :
Maintenance of Financial books
Ensure adherence to robust financial systems and controls relating to finance interface with business operations
Implementing key finance metrics aligned with business operations
Responsibilities
Supervising regular updation of books of accounts by ensuring compliance of Indian Accounting Standards, IRDA and other relevant laws
Reconciliation and correct reporting of GL Accounts relating to Premium, Banks, Reinsurance, Claims, Accruals, Reserves, Provisions, Statutory liabilities, Commission, Incentives, Customers and Vendors.
Supervision of team, review and reporting of their performance dashboard in terms of TAT, SLA & accounting hygiene.
Preparation of periodic MIS and submission of reports required under various IRDA regulations and circulars.
Coordination/ liaising with internal, statutory and IRDA audits and ensuring timely closure and minimum observations
Ensuring timely and effective compliance of service tax including correct recording of Input Tax Credit and charge on taxable services
Identify and suggest business process improvements from finance perspective as part of continuous productivity and efficiency improvement objective
Skills
Sound understanding of laws and statutory regulations pertaining to financial management, accounting, audit, compliance and taxation.
Knowledge of rules and regulations framed under IRDA Act is desirable.
Proficiency on working in MS Office (High on Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
Expert Knowledge and hands on experience of transaction related legislations such as TDS, service tax etc.

Measures of Success
Completion of all accounting activities with minimum pending transactions ensuring full accuracy and within agreed timeliness
Timely and accurate finalisation of monthly trial balance, returns, reports and statutory compliances
Finalisation of audited accounts with minimal changes from management accounts
Efficient transmission of financial information to other team members
Feedback from supervisor and other colleagues.

Adherence to agreed TATs
Minimum audit observations, deviation from targets
Designing financial processes, controls and efficiency measures.
Qualification
CA with B.Com (Hons) supplemented by further relevant professional study / qualification.
Preferably 5- 6 years of work experience in the area of finance environment.
