We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities within the freight forwarding industry. This role requires a strong understanding of the logistics market, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of success in sales and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prospecting & Lead Generation:
* Identify and qualify potential new clients through various channels, including cold calling, networking, industry events, and online platforms.
* Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
* Sales & Account Management:
* Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients.
* Negotiate and close deals with new and existing clients.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and decision-makers.
* Provide excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
* Market Analysis & Research:
* Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and trends.
* Analyze competitor activities and develop effective counter-strategies.
* Stay abreast of industry regulations and best practices.
* Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
* Track and report on sales activities, progress, and results.
* Develop and implement sales forecasts and budgets.
* Contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the company.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
* Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in sales and business development within the freight forwarding industry.
* Skills:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
* Strong negotiation and closing skills
* Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Results-oriented with a strong work ethic
