Medical Coder - Pediatrics (Permanent WFH opportunity)

Role & responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
• Accounts for coding spine and pain management notes and abstracting codes including ICD 10, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier from clinical notes.
• Expertise on a wide range of procedures like; Acute and chronic pain, Pain management injection procedures, Chemodenervation procedures, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Nerve blocks, including occipital or trigeminal blocks
• Ensure codes are accurate, active, and sequenced correctly in accordance with insurance regulations
• Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear and communicate with other clinical staff regarding documentation.
• Research for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusual
• Review the patients history for appending global modifiers.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and keep Patients PHI intact

Preferred candidate profile

• Good English communication (reading, writing)
• Any Medical Coding Certification Mandatory
• Understanding of US healthcare, HIPAA
• Good at MS Office
• Professionalism, confidentiality, and organization
• Experience in using RCM Software
• Capable of task execution based on work instructions
