Job Description
Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior FinOps Analyst for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in India (Pune). Our client is a cloud platform for business spend management (BSM) that helps organizations manage their spending, procurement, invoicing, expenses, and supplier relationships. They provide a unified, cloud-based spend management platform that connects hundreds of organizations representing the Americas, EMEA, and APAC with millions of suppliers globally.
The platform provides greater visibility into and control over how companies spend money. Small, medium, and large customers have used the platform to bring billions of dollars in cumulative spending under management. The company offers a comprehensive platform that helps organizations manage their spending, procurement, invoicing, expenses, and supplier relationships. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in San Mateo, California, they aim to streamline and optimize business processes, driving efficiency and cost savings.
The project: The purpose is to identify over-provisioned or unused resources across the entire cloud estate, liaise with the relevant teams, develop plans to optimize costs, and track and categorize all savings achieved.
- 4+ years of experience managing costs across multiple billing accounts within AWS or Azure using native cost management and other FinOps tools.
- Experience in engineering/operations in AWS or Azure to set up financial monitoring and reporting, investigate anomalies, and identify savings opportunities.
- Strong technical background in cloud, virtualization, containers, databases, and networking.
- Exposure to basic accounting practices and public cloud provider billing practices.
- Knowledge of Excel and Tableau/Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries, data analytics, and reporting.
- Exposure to automation tools and scripting and an understanding of cloud resource deployment methods and tools.
- Strong skills in stakeholder management and communications.
- An aptitude for problem-solving with a strong bias for action.
- Understanding using Agile methodologies and software development practices.
- Proven experience in reducing the consumption of underutilized resources and leading cloud cost-efficiency improvements.
- Desired certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Associate Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator, FinOps Practitioner.
- Assist in driving financial opportunities across multiple teams and stakeholders. Record and track financial opportunities, discussions, decisions, and impacts.
- Build dashboards, reports, data automation, and forecasts as required.
- Create and maintain documentation of systems and procedures related to the role. Leverage FinOps tools to identify areas where enhanced procedures could optimize cloud cost (e.g., Reservations and Rightsizing).
