Plant Head - Manufacturing Unit (3-8 yrs)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Head to lead operations at one of our state-of-the-art manufacturing plants. This critical leadership role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in machining operations, strong knowledge of automotive processes, and a proven ability to manage end-to-end plant operations while driving profitability, efficiency, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plant Operations: Lead and oversee all plant functions, excluding finance. Ensure smooth operations across production, supply chain, quality, and maintenance.

- P&L Responsibility: Manage the Profit & Loss of the plant, focusing on cost control, capital utilization, and inventory management.

- Machining Expertise: Leverage expertise in machining, particularly in gears, with a strong understanding of steel forging, machining processes, and metallurgy.

- Customer Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for customer interactions, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with business goals.

- Supply Chain Management: Develop and manage supply chain activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution to meet delivery commitments.

- Process Excellence: Drive efficiency and excellence through lean manufacturing, VAVE, Toyota Production System, TPM, and Six Sigma practices.

- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analysis to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

- Man Management: Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams while managing the dynamics of the northern India workforce effectively.

- Strategic Focus: Collaborate with the Operations Director to align plant operations with broader organizational objectives and strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Education: BE/BTech or Diploma in Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial, or Production Engineering.

- Experience: 18+ years of experience in machining operations, with a focus on automotive manufacturing.

Preferred Age: Around 45 years.

Industry Expertise: Strong preference for candidates with experience in machining environments, ideally in Automotive Gears manufacturing Companies.

Skills and Competencies:

- Deep knowledge of metallurgy and machining processes, particularly in gears and steel forging.

- Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and industry dynamics.

- Expertise in supply chain management, including planning, scheduling, and cost control.

- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System, TPM, Six Sigma, and VAVE.

- Analytical mindset with strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities.

- Exceptional leadership and man-management skills.

- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage ambiguity and drive strategic initiatives.
