Job Title: Key Account Manager - Modern Trade

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Key Account Manager - Modern Trade to lead and manage the growth of our modern trade business. He will be responsible for developing and executing the modern trade strategy across key accounts, including large retailers, hypermarkets, and supermarkets. This individual will drive sales, enhance customer relationships, ensure optimal product placement, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives.



Experience required: 5 years 15 years

Work Location: Lower Parel, Mumbai

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and implement the overall modern trade strategy to achieve business growth, sales, and profitability targets.
  • Identify growth opportunities, prioritize accounts, and develop account-specific plans for business development.
  • Formulate strategies for product visibility, distribution, and promotional activities within modern trade outlets.

2. Key Account Management:

  • Lead and manage relationships with key modern trade accounts (supermarkets, hypermarkets, department stores).
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, pricing, and promotional terms to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Oversee the execution of account-specific business plans and ensure alignment with the broader company objectives.

3. Sales & Revenue Growth:

  • Drive sales growth by implementing initiatives to increase product sales, market share, and brand presence within key accounts.
  • Work closely with the sales team to monitor and track performance against sales targets and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell or up-sell across product categories within modern trade accounts.

4. Trade Marketing & Promotions:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement trade marketing plans and promotions tailored to the modern trade channel.
  • Ensure successful execution of in-store promotions, product launches, and marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee in-store visual merchandising and display standards to enhance product visibility.

5. Inventory & Demand Planning:

  • Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and timely product availability.
  • Monitor stock levels and sales velocity to avoid stockouts and overstock situations, ensuring product availability across modern trade outlets.
  • Analyze sell-through data to improve inventory management and sales performance.

6. Market Analysis & Reporting:

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior within the modern trade space.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding market changes, competitive strategies, and new opportunities.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, account activity, market trends, and competitor analysis.

7. Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Modern Trade Account Managers and Field Sales Representatives, providing guidance and support to ensure goals are met.
  • Foster collaboration between internal departments (e.g., marketing, sales, supply chain, finance) to align strategies and execution.
  • Support and motivate the team to achieve performance targets and business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in modern trade, key account management, or sales management, preferably in the garment, textile, clothing, apparel, and socks industry.
  • Strong understanding of the modern trade landscape, including key account management, trade marketing, and category management.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with sales forecasting and market analysis.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
