Khaka Artist

We are seeking a talented Khakaman to create detailed Khakas (technical sketches) for our garment collections. As part of the design team, you will work closely with the designers to translate their concepts into precise, technical drawings that guide the garment creation process. Your attention to detail and expertise in fashion sketching will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our collections.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with designers to understand the garment concept and design details.
• Create accurate and detailed technical sketches (Khakas) for all styles in the collection, including measurements, fabric types, and stitching techniques.
• Ensure all design details, including embellishments and finishes, are represented clearly in the sketches.
• Coordinate with pattern makers and sample makers to ensure designs are feasible and to troubleshoot any discrepancies in the production process.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends, fabrics, and garment construction techniques to incorporate into sketches.
• Review and revise sketches as needed, based on feedback from the design and production teams.
• Maintain an organized digital and physical record of all technical drawings and revisions.
• Contribute to creating tech packs that include detailed drawings, fabric specifications, trims, and production instructions.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in creating technical sketches for fashion or garment collections.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and fashion terminology.
• Proficiency in fashion sketching (hand-drawn)
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all technical drawings.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in high-end or ethnic fashion collections.
• Knowledge of pattern making and garment fitting is a plus.
