Assistant Manager - Product Development (Herbal unit - Pharma)

Furnishing Job description:

Manage Top Line and Bottom Line:

Accountable for achieving the budgeted top line and bottom line of the product.

Networking:

Acts as a grid between Business head and Product development team, Customers / Consumers and Sales team to address the needs.

Market intelligence:

• Conduct market research, competitor analysis and benchmarking for new products.
• Understand the customer needs and translate them into product requirements.
• Responsible for collecting and analysing data of the products / categories handled by him to determine strategy for growth in areas such as market opportunity, market penetration and market development.

New product development:

• Define business and product parameters, drive prioritization and partner with development team.
• Interact with R & D, manufacturing team, vendors for developing complete product budget.
• Design and develop attractive and cost-effective packaging.
• Responsible for development of new product from process losses if any in a given product to bring in value and realizations.

Test Marketing:

Performing customer and market centric research before launch of a new product.

Product Launch:

• Define product positioning and product USP.
• Define distribution and placement strategies.
• Conduct post-launch analysis of new products.
• Provide product training to internal & external customers.

Product Promotion:

• Coordinating the development of communication materials such as catalogues websites, brochures, packaging and in-store displays.
• Brand promotion activities, campaign / advertisements on media (Press / Visual) and other online branding promotions.

Pricing:

• To review and refine the pricing strategy for existing as well as new products.
• Benchmark key competition for pricing and to understand all price volume gap/ opportunities.
• Accountable for fixing margins and schemes for the existing & new products for distributors and retailers.

Product lifecycle:

• Track the entire lifecycle of the product.
• Devising growth strategies for a product during its life cycle on a periodical basis to achieve desired results
• Responsible for capacity augmentation on the growth of the product.

Ancillary roles:

• Resource identification and advising on Third party plants, Outsourcing of products etc.
• Specific statutory and legal compliances related to product / category.
• Participating in seminar and trade fairs.
• Performance analysis of the product / category.
• Monitoring of customer complaints and feedback
