Mechanical Site Engineer (Fire Fighting & Metal Tanks)

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision:
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire-fighting systems, including metal storage tanks and related piping.
Ensure compliance with project designs, standards, and specifications.
Project Management:
Coordinate daily activities at the site to meet project timelines.
Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project deliverables.
Prepare daily progress reports and update stakeholders.
Technical Expertise:
Design and optimize layouts for fire-fighting systems, bulk storge tanks as per API 650 and pipelines.
Conduct inspections and ensure adherence to local and international fire safety standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during construction and installation.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor materials and workmanship to maintain high-quality standards.
Implement safety protocols and ensure adherence to workplace health and safety guidelines.
Documentation:
Develop and maintain project documentation, including drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Prepare detailed reports and provide recommendations for any technical improvements.
Client & Team Coordination:
Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to address concerns and align project objectives.
Provide guidance and training to junior team members.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in fire-fighting systems and metal tank installation projects.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of fire-fighting codes (NFPA standards preferred).
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and project management tools.
Familiarity with hydraulic calculations and piping systems.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Certifications (Preferred):
Relevant certifications in fire safety or mechanical engineering are an advantage (e.g., NFPA, ASME).

Additional Requirements

Willingness to travel or relocate based on project needs.
Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams on-site.
Proven track record of successful project completions within budget and timelines.
