Stride Ventures - Risk Lead (10-15 yrs)

- The Risk Lead will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously enhancing the firm's risk management framework for all venture debt investments across multiple funds and geographies.

- This individual will play a pivotal role in balancing robust governance with the agility required for evaluating and supporting high-growth startups.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Risk Framework Development:

- Design, implement, and periodically update the risk management framework tailored to the unique requirements of venture debt investments.

- Develop sector-specific and geography-specific risk models to assess credit, operational, and market risks.

2. Investment Risk Assessment:

- Evaluate startup's business models, unit economics, funding history, and sponsor (VC/PE) backing.

- Conduct thorough risk assessments for prospective investments, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.

3. Portfolio Monitoring:

- Establish and maintain a robust system for ongoing risk monitoring across active investments.

- Provide early warning signals and risk mitigation strategies for underperforming investments.

4. Continuous Improvement:

- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in the startup ecosystem. Champion the adoption of innovative tools and methodologies for risk management

Required Skillsets:

- Proficiency in credit risk analysis, financial modelling, and portfolio riskassessment. Expertise in developing and implementing risk management systems.

- Deep understanding of startup dynamics, including revenue models, funding structures, and market trends. Knowledge of venture debt instruments, including covenants, interest rates, and repayment structures.
