Job Description

About the role :

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for our India office (in Bangalore) to lead our local engineering teams and drive innovation, disruption and feature enhancements across our streaming platform.

The CTO will be responsible for overseeing the overall engineering operations in the India office: management, hiring, organization, communication with the US and France offices, etc.

Reporting directly to the group Chief Technology Officer, the India CTO will partner with VPs and SVPs in Engineering, Product and Design, to shape our product roadmap, enhancing our MVPD platform and product offerings to help drive subscriber growth.

Responsibilities :

Strategic Leadership :


- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute the company technology vision and roadmap.

People & Team Management :


- Lead team's of engineers to ensure our technical infrastructure is developed and maintained to the highest standards while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

- Collaborate with engineers and leadership to reach a consensus on technical and people decisions.

Financial Oversight :


- Help manage the team's budget, financial planning, resource allocation, and team growth.

Technical Oversight :


- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of front end, back end, and data engineering systems, etc.ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Product Partnership :


- Partner closely with the Product and Design teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, driving product enhancements and feature development.

Video Streaming Expertise :


- Drive innovation in video streaming technologies, ensuring an unparalleled user experience across all devices and platforms.

Ad Tech Optimization :


- Implement cutting-edge ad tech solutions to optimize monetization opportunities and enhance advertising effectiveness.

Video AI Enhancement :


- Develop and implement strategies to enhance video intelligence and content recommendation algorithms, driving user engagement and retention.

Technical Excellence :


- Establish best practices, standards, and processes to ensure the highest levels of technical excellence, security, and compliance.

Industry Trends :


- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive landscape, identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation.

Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Masters degree preferred.

- Proven track record of leadership in technology organizations, with at least 10+ years of. experience in a senior technical role.

- Expertise in video streaming technologies, ad tech platforms, and data engineering solutions.

- Knowledge and interest in AI technologies, especially applied to video streams.

- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business impact.

- Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale technology initiatives, from conception to implementation.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams across the organization, and to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement.

- Practical experience with software architecture.

- Ability to start as an individual contributor and build an engineering team from the ground-up.

- Experience working directly with front-end and back-end engineers.

- Experience in the media or entertainment industry is a plus.
