Manager- Electrical (Fixed Term)

Job Summary:

Corporation is seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, operation, and compliance of electrical systems and utilities within our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure that all electrical infrastructure, including substations and related utilities, operates efficiently and complies with relevant Indian standards and regulations. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves coordination with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory authorities. The scope of activities will include general Facilities Management along with the focus on Electrical engineering role.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Operations:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of electrical substations, power distribution systems, and other utilities.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and safety of all electrical installations.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of electrical systems including HVAC to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Develop and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce electrical consumption and enhance cost efficiency.
• Work on integrating smart building technologies, such as Building Management Systems (BMS), to improve monitoring and control of electrical systems.

Compliance & Standards:

• Ensure all electrical systems comply with Indian standards (such as IS codes) The Electrical Act and Rules and local CEA regulations.
• Liaise with government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure legal compliance.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.

Project Management:

• Manage electrical projects from planning to execution, including upgrades, installations, and renovations.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Prepare and manage budgets for electrical projects and maintenance activities.
• Liaise with external contractors, service providers, regulatory authorities for all aspects related to facilities management.

Safety & Risk Management:

• Implement safety protocols and procedures to prevent electrical hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for emergency situations.
• Train staff on electrical safety practices and emergency response procedures.

Communication & Collaboration:

• Work closely with the facility management team to align electrical operations with overall facility objectives.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other departments as needed.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including management, staff, and external partners.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for electrical issues.
• Analyse system performance data and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry best practices in electrical engineering.

Any other role and responsibility which may be assigned as per requirement of the Corporation.

Additional Skill Sets

• Technical Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including substations, power distribution, and utilities.
• Familiarity with Indian standards (IS codes) and local regulations related to electrical engineering.

Eligibility Criteria :

Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply

Minimum Age Limit: 30 years as on 30-November-2024

Maximum Age Limit: 40 years as on 30-November-2024

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 60% aggregate marks from AICTE approved Institutions / Universities or
• 3 year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a Polytechnic institutions, affiliated with either state technical boards or AICTE with minimum 60% aggregate marks
• Supervisory licence for electrical workmanship is mandatory
• Professional certifications: Chartered Engineer or equivalent preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of 12 years of experience for Diploma holders and 10 years of experience for Degree holders in Electrical Engineering, preferably in facility management or utilities.
• Proven experience in managing electrical systems in a commercial or industrial setting.

Terms of Contract: 3 years
